After two successful EP's and a jaunt in 2004 singing with Zero 7 (she was the voice behind "Home") Danish singer/songwriter Tina Dico now releases her own debut album. Titled In The Red, the project has been produced by Chris Potter (The Verve, Blur, Richard Ashcroft) who provides a well-polished sheen, ensuring the album is accessible and immediate. Dico's songs are already easy to like though. She breathes her strong vocals over tracks that tend towards the folk-pop realm, first single from the album, "Warm Sand' (culled from her 2004 Far EP) being a good example of her approach. Most of the tracks here are radio-friendly love songs that glow with Potter's lush orchestral instrumentation, combined with the occasional melancholic reverie. Songs such as "Room With A View" offer languorous acoustic moods, while opening gambit "Losing" combines downbeat verses with a catchy chorus. It might not have the same `chill-out' credentials as Zero 7, but In The Red is a luxuriant listen all the same.--Paul Sullivan Amazon.co.uk Review.
